UNIFORM REGULATIONS

Skaters (sub or otherwise) are not allowed to play in socks or jerseys other than those for the team in question.

If a team jersey is not made available for use by a sub goalie, the sub will be allowed to play in a non-CIHL jersey.

However, the team in question will be penalised with a major penalty (7 minutes running time) at the beginning of the game.

The penalized team will not be required to put a skater in the box to "serve" the penalty.

Putting a sub goalie in a non-CIHL jersey at a later point in the game will not allow the team in question to get around the major penalty to be assessed at the beginning of the game. The team must dress the sub goalie in non-CIHL apparel from the beginning of the game

The above regulations shall be enforced by the on-ice officials for that game.

CIHL Code of Conduct

This document pertains to all players, officials, Board and Committee members and volunteers (league members) in the Chinese Taipei Ice Hockey League (from here on referred to as the CIHL)

Beginning from the 2007-2008 season, the CIHL has formed a Disciplinary Committee (the Committee) to deal with incidents of disreputable behavior by league members. The members of this Committee are selected by the Board for a term of service lasting one year. For this season, the members are Dave Hann, Josh Smith and Mal Turner. This initiative of this Committee is to settle cases that have been brought to their attention by a formal written petition, and to ensure that a Code of Conduct is enforced in the League.

The Code of Conduct

The CIHL is a recreational hockey league. Battles occur on the ice, and the competition is fierce; however the world on the ice and off the ice cannot come into contact.

This includes players getting involved with the fans or an on-ice incident continuing off-ice. We must remember that as members of the League that we are ambassadors for hockey in Taiwan.

Hockey in Taiwan is in its infant stage; however we have seen great strides in the last few years, and we hope to bolster this growth. As such, we must enforce a Code of Conduct.

This includes a level of camaraderie and the realization that as being allowed to join the League you must be willing to act with a bit of discretion in your actions, both on and off the ice.

For now the Code of Conduct will exist predominantly in the form of a Gentleman’s Contract; however a few elements must be pointed out.

The Disciplinary Committee is not proposing to lower the level of intensity on the ice, but once the game ends all players and officials, must be able to separate themselves from any incidents that have occurred.

If they are not able to, then they have the option to write to the Disciplinary Committee to lodge their complaint.

This Committee is not meant to be a grievance forum; however we are aware that incidents will happen.

It is for this reason that any player wishing to use the Disciplinary Committee for adjudication may do so, however, the lodging of complaints will require a 1000nt deposit.

In the event that the Disciplinary Committee finds in favor of the plaintiff, this deposit will be returned

Board or Disciplinary Committee members may request an incident review without deposit

The point is that we all remember what this league is, a recreational league. The vast majority of players are legal adults and as such should be able to follow this guideline with no issue.

The League is not a place for individuals to take out their personal frustrations in the form of on-ice or off-ice incidents.

Players are not allowed to curse directly at officials during their game, and there is a zero-tolerance policy for off-ice incidents

All Team Leaders, please advise your players of this new Code of Conduct

The Code of Conduct will go in effect as of this day, November 15th, 2007.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact the Committee in written form (e-mail). Dave Hann (Committee Head) (hannsix@yahoo.com) Josh Smith (joshuabsmith@hotmail.com) Mal Turner (maldwynturner@yahoo.ca)
