From Coon Rapids, Schnickel played AAA hockey
from 13-19 years old on teams including the MN
Stars, MN Lightning, MN Selects, MN Elite Classic.
She participated in Olympic Development Camps
and was a 4 yr letter winner at Coon Rapids H.S.,
she was a 3 time all-conference pick, and earned
academic distinction as a Junior and Senior.
Schnickel went on to play 4 years at Bemidji State
where she did not miss a game throughout her
collegiate career. Schnickel earned the team’s
Rookie of the Year award as a freshman and was
a three time member of WCHA’s All-Academic
team, During her junior and senior seasons she
led the Beaver’s defensemen in scoring and
served as an assistant captain.
