WLA Commissioner Casey Cook assesses a two (2) game suspension for Brodie MacDonald of the Langley Thunder for his actions while leaving the playing surface on July 6th, 2014. Notes: - On review, the video shows that Brodie MacDonald, on his way off the floor after being ejected for having received his second major penalty of the game, swung his stick in the direction of, and onto the opposing team’s player bench. The stick struck the Nanaimo Timbermen Trainer/Equipment Manager who was handling the door.
- The ruling deals with the actions of Brodie MacDonald only as he is leaving the floor. Regarding the actions of Brody MacDonald prior to the incident described, they were not requested for review, and after discussion with on-floor officials, no further action is warranted.
- WLA webcast video was used in the review.
- The record of, and/or the absence of any previous disciplinary action received by, Brodie MacDonald, were taken into account.
- As per the WLA Operating Policy, this ruling is subject to appeal.
