Good news for the Timbermen

There is good news coming out of Nanaimo today as the Timbermen distributed their first press release since the announcement that Hadi Abassi had stepped away from being the club's major financial backer. See the release below.

T-Men Move Into New Digs:
 
The Nanaimo Timbermen Sr A & Jr A Lacrosse Clubs are pleased to announce that they have moved their offices into Beban House located at 2290 Bowen Rd.  The new Timbermen Office will be open 11am-4pm Monday to Friday.
 
The teams, who were invited by the Nanaimo Clippers Jr Hockey Club have set up an executive office and have begun selling Season Tickets, Merchandise, Corporate Sponsorship Packages and much more.  The T-Men would like to thank the Nanaimo Clippers for their gracious offer and support for our club.  They are a shining example of how cooperation in sport makes us a stronger community.
 
The T-Men are also pleased to announce the addition of Jen Kennedy who will take care of our Corporate Sales, Game Day Activities and Fan Experience duties.  Jen brings with her a wealth of knowledge, experience and passion for this position which is similar to her position with the Nanaimo Clippers. 
 
Major Sponsor Update:
 
The Timbermen received many inquiries regarding the Major Sponsor, including seven expressions of interest of which the club is moving forward with negotiations with four individuals.  Due to the nature of the negotiations, the parties must remain confidential.  Updates will be made available to the media, our fans and the general public as soon as they become finalized.  
                                                                                                 
 Junior A Training Camp Underway:               
 
The Jr A Timbermen opened training camp Tuesday night with 24 players hitting the floor.  The team will practice twice weekly at Frank Crane Arena from 8pm-9:30pm on Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s,  which will also be their regular practice slot once the season begins.   The team has its first exhibition game Wednesday April 16, 7pm at Fuller Lake Arena in Chemainus, where they will take on the Victoria Jr A Shamrocks.  Tickets are available at the door.
