To view the most up-to-date and final schedule for Sunday's Finals Day, please: CLICK HERE VANCOUVER, BC – When Day Four opened at UBC Wolfson Fields, it appeared that this week’s streak of beautiful weather had come to the end. The overcast skies gave way to sunshine and heat, however, as the playoff rounds officially got underway. U-18 Men Sunday’s Cup finals in the U18 Men’s division are sure to be an exciting end to a week of great rugby. In the Cup Final, defending champions, BC will face Ontario1 after defeating Alberta 14-0 in the Semifinals. The Plate final will see BC2 and Ontario3 after downing Newfoundland and Quebec, respectively, and Nova Scotia and Saskatchewan are set to go head-to-head for the Bowl. U-18 Women In the Plate Semifinals, Saskatchewan opened action against Nova Scotia. They would go on to clinch a spot in the final with their 28-17 win, and Manitoba would make it a prairie Plate Final after they overwhelmed Newfoundland 48-10. In the Cup Semifinals, eastern rivals Ontario and Quebec would bid for a chance to be National Champions, but Ontario would be the victor as they downed Quebec 30-3. BC narrowly escaped their match against the Albertan women with a 15-13 win to advance. The Finals take place tomorrow, when Manitoba take on Saskatchewan for the Plate and the National Title will be on the line for BC and Ontario in the Cup Final. U-16 Men The round robin will continue for the U16 men on Sunday, and Quebec and Ontario2 will open the day in the Plate round, followed by New Brunswick vs Newfoundland. Ontario1 and BC1 kick-off the Cup round in the morning and BC2 face Alberta in the afternoon. U-16 Women No change was seen in the standings on Day Four; BC’s first team remains undefeated in first spot, after besting their second team 31-0 in the first game of the day. Ontario and Alberta faced off to round off the afternoon, and though the prairie women had an opportunity to steal the second place berth from their opponents, Ontario would narrowly take the win, 18-10. Tomorrow, Alberta will battle BC2 for the Bronze Medal, and both BC1 and Ontario are sure to put in a tough effort to take home the National Title. The Canadian Rugby Championships (CRC) kicked-off across the country on Saturday night, and as UBC played host to the Prairie Wolf Pack @ BC Bears, attendees of the day’s festival took in the action. The away team would take the opener, as the Pack bested BC 30-21.
