Dek Hockey Fall Season Week 6 Recap

Week 6 of the Sportime dek hockey season is in the books. Here are the highlights.

 

Dek “Platinum”

-On Monday Sundown jumped out to a three-goal lead on Lockdown, and hung on to win by a 3-2 final. Goaltender Rob Lowenhaupt was the winner in net, making 22 stops. Jesse Whalen also netted two goals for Sundown.  

 -A shootout goal from Nick Miranda helped Rundown come away with a 5-4 win over the Bingers on Wednesday. Chris Collins also had two goals and an assist during regulation time for Rundown, who remains undefeated this fall.

 

Dek “Gold”

-The Cosmic Hippos started off the second half of their season on the right foot, defeating EZ2-4U by a 5-2 final on Sunday. Chris Amato and John DeWitt both scored twice for the Hippos, while goaltender Paul Wohlrab turned away 21 shots.

 -The first-place Top Cats now have a four-point lead over the Chiefs, after defeating them 4-2 on Wednesday. Phil Connolly scored twice in the second period to help the Cats pick up the victory. Rob Lowenhaupt also stopped 20 of the 22 shots he faced in the game.

-On Wednesday, EZ2-4U bounced backed against the Renegades, picking up an impressive 6-1 victory. Nick Bayer and William Mallon each registered a pair of goals in the contest.

 

Dek “Silver”

-Last Sunday, the Avengers picked up a crucial 3-2 win over the Bombsquad. Geraldo DeGuido was terrific in net for the Avengers, finishing with 32 saves.  

-The Baymen doubled up the Pros on Monday night, defeating them 4-2. Marcello Lattuca was the star of the game, scoring a hat trick. In net, it was Anthony Vitelli who shined for the Baymen, making 22 saves.

-The Avengers continued their impressive week on Monday, earning a 3-2 overtime victory against the Smokin Aces. Glenn Griffo scored in overtime to give the Avengers their second win in two nights.  

-Working Overtime continues to dominate the Silver division, earning a 6-1 win over CTP on Monday. Dan Vehlies, Stephen Gager, and Aaron Dunn all had multi-point nights in the victory, while goaltender George Simpson stopped 20 of the 21 shots he saw.

 

Dek “Bronze”

-A three-point night from Travis Knott led the Evo-Chargers to a 4-2 win over the Puckhedz last Sunday. Knott’s two goals and an assist, combined with a 20-save effort from goaltender Anthony Vitelli, were enough to get the Chargers their third win of the fall.

-On Sunday, Sniper District earned a memorable 7-6 shootout victory over the Rabid Squirrels. Mike Basile had a hat trick to help get the District to extra time. Then in the shootout, Basile and Joe Mucci delivered key scores.

-The Horseheads are now 5-0, after shutting out Young Blood 3-0 on Wednesday. Pat Vitale, Chris Amato, and Mike Eont all registered goals in the game for the first-place Horseheads.

 

Dek “Emerald”

-Screwed holds onto first place in the Emerald division winning a defensive battle against the Survivors, 2-1. Justin Gutterman delivered the eventual game-winning goal for Screwed in the game’s second period.

-An offensive explosion in the second period gave Your Mom’s Pool Boys a 5-2 win over Blackout on Wednesday night. Anthony Calvo, Gil Doremus, Brandon Stein, and Mike Pitera all lit the lamp in the stanza to give the Pool Boys their third win of the season. Marc Price picked up the victory between the pipes, making 20 saves.
