“Troy Ryan has been an integral part of Team Canada East since the inception of the World Junior A Challenge,” declared the General Manager for Team Canada East, Marty Abrams. “There are few coaches in Junior A hockey that dedicate themselves to their trade like Troy does. We are very fortunate to have Troy apply his skills again for Team Canada East this November. Over the past two World Junior A Challenge tournaments, Troy has done an outstanding job with the players, and we feel his contribution has been pivotal to our success”
Team Canada East also announced today that they have appointed Patrice Bosch from Les Inouk de Granby of the Ligue de Hockey Junior AAA du Quebec (LHJAAAQ), as an Assistant Coach.
“We are very delighted to appoint Pat as an Assistant Coach for Team Canada East,” pronounced Marty Abrams. “Pat has done a tremendous job in Granby, and has developed several quality hockey players during his tenure. We are happy to bring him into the fold and are excited to learn from his coaching experience and knowledge. Pat led his team to a first place finish this season and has a great knowledge of the LHJAAAQ and its players. The players of Team Canada East will certainly benefit from the guidance of the coaching staff that we have assembled this year.”
The 2008 World Junior A Challenge will take place from November 1st to 9th in Camrose, AB. Canada will look to continue its tremendous success at the event, as Team Canada East played Team Canada West in the championship finals of the 2006 and 2007 World Junior A Challenge events, winning silver and gold medals respectively in back-to-back years.
