The Irish American Hockey Association, in partnership with the Boston Bruins Charitable Foundation, invite you to skate and be a part of the 12th annual Irish American Ice Hockey Classic: Boston 2018! Limited Team spots remain for the 2018 Irish Hockey Classic.

The 12th annual Irish American Ice Hockey Classic: Boston 2018 is being held from Thursday, March 15, 2018 (Yes, you'll be celebrating St. Patrick's Day 2018 in South Boston)  through Saturday evening, March 17, 2017 at the Murphy Rink on the shores of Boston Harbor in South Boston, MA and the Stereti Rink adjacent to the Boston Garden.

The Murphy Rink in South Boston is open for the Irish Hockey Classic after a $4+ Million Dollar renovation which includes 6 new locker rooms, new glass foyer over looking Castle Island Pleasure Bay, new lobby, new pro shop, new snack shop, new shower rooms, new player benches and penalty boxes.

In addition to most of the 2017 teams returning to the 2018 Irish Hockey Classic, we are honored to have the Arcadians Police Hockey Team, Dollard Ducks QC Nordiques as well as Hockey Teams traveling from Ireland to take part in the 2018 Irish American Ice Hockey Classic: Boston 2018.

The 12th Annual 2018 Irish Hockey Classic promises to be the most fun filled to date with Irish American Ice Hockey festivities throughout the city of Boston over the 3 day event.

For the 2018 Irish Ice Hockey Classic, we've added a 5th Division of Competition (over 50 and recreational division) to ensure all talent levels can compete in the Irish Games, Boston 2018.

At the 11th Annual Irish American Ice Hockey Classic: Boston 2017, over $5,000.00 was raised by South Boston State Representative Nick Collins and the South Boston Alumni Hockey Team, who particpated in this years Irish Classic to benefit South Boston Youth Hockey.

Additionally at the 2017 Irish Classic, over $6,000.00 was raised for Boston Latin Athletic Program as athletic events they sponsor.


Many thanks to State Rep Nick Collins, the staff at the Stereti Rink and the over 500 Irish Hockey Particpants for making the 2017 Irish American Ice Hockey Classic a tremendous success!

In years past, over 40 youth hockey players from Ireland made the voyage across the pond to watch the Adults play in the Irish American Ice Hockey Classic and the kids of Ireland were treated to a weeks worth of youth hockey camps, clinics and scrimmages throughout the City of Boston, courtesy of the Irish American Hockey Association.
The Irish American Hockey Association would like to thank all of the Players and Fans who attended this years Irish Hockey Classic.

Many thanks to the Massachusetts State Police as well as the MSP Color Guard, the MSP vocalist and the MSP Bagpippers for such a moving tribute to fallen Philadelphia Police Officer Robert Wilson.

Pictures to the left are Massachusetts State Troopers presenting Philadelphia Police Hockey with a Mass State Police Hockey jersey bearing the name of fallen officer Robert Wilson. Also in the in the photo Congressman Lynch's office presents Philadelphia Police Hockey with a framed US flag that was flown over the US Capital buidling in honor of Officer Wilson.

Congratulations to the Four Irish Hockey division winners this year: The Souhie Chargers, Energy Auction House, ATF Hockey and Team 5 Hole.

The 2017 Irish Hockey Schedule is now SET IN STONE .

Also, WE NEED YOUR ROSTERS! Team Managers, if you haven't already done so, please log in and submit your final rosters by Sunday, March 1st so that we can go to print with the Players ID's.

The 11th annual Irish Hockey Classic is once again honored to have Ross O'Driscoll, Captain of Ireland's National Hockey Team, make the trip to Boston and skate in this years Irish Hockey Classic as part of the Hillside Blues. 

Hockey in Ireland needs your help as the Dundalk rink remains closed. Please see Ross O'Driscoll at this years tournamnet and ask how you can help keep the hockey dream alive in Ireland.

Additional Irish Hockey Pubs, with complimentary food for all Irish Hockey players, has just been added within a short walk from Stereti rink and across from the Boston Garden. Please log in to the "Players Only" section on the left side of the Irish home page for recently added Irish Pubs.

International Appeal: The 2017 Irish Tournament, in additional to most of the 2016 teams returning for the 2017 Irish American Ice Hockey Classic, are honored to have the Swiss National Police Hockey team from Valais, Switzerland commit to the 2016 Irish Hockey Classic as well as the Philadelphia PD Hockey Team and a new squad from Oshawa/ Pickering, Ontario. Added local teams to the 2016 Irish Classic include a new squads from the Cape Cod: the BoonPuck Saints, Boston Latin Alumni Hockey, as well as THE Massachusetts State Police Hockey team from the Boston area.

All of the 2017 Irish Ice Hockey Classic games will be televised LIVE this year thanks to www.RinkView.com who have installed multiple fast action cameras in the STERETI Rink.

All recently completed games will  be shown at the rink as well as at the post game buffet celebrations at the Lincoln on Broadway on Thursday, The Boston Beer Garden on Friday and the Playwright Bar and Grill on Saturday as well as the newly contracted NorthStar Pub @ 222 Friend St in Boston (across from the Boston Garden).

Over 1000 players and guests attended the 10th annual Irish American Ice Hockey Classic at the Murphy Rink in South Boston this past week-end and all who attended enjoyed the best Irish Hockey Classic to date.

The tournament kicked off on Thursday afternoon with a host of State and local dignitaries including the DCR commissioner, newly re-elected Boston City Councilor Michael Flaherty and a host of other State Representatives and Senators announcing a 4.2M renovation of the Murphy Rink set to begin immediately after the conclusion of the Irish Ice Hockey Classic.

Boston Police Hockey and Boston Fire Hockey opened this years Irish Classic and as always, a great game ensued.

The 2016 Irish Classic welcomed a few new teams including York Ontario PD, Commodore Builders from Boston, Energy Auction House, Bay State Blades, the Admirals and the N'17's from Montreal.

The Boston Beer Garden on Thursday night put on a fantastic spread for the boys as did Lincoln Tavern on Friday and Whiskey Priest on Saturday.

Full game recaps as well as photos and videos were be posted shortly after the conclusion of the 2016 event. Thanks to all players and guests who attended.

Newly elected Boston Mayor Marty Walsh, longtime member of the Irish American Hockey Association, dropped the ceremonial puck to open the 8th annual Irish American Ice Hockey Classic  at the Murphy rink in South Boston.

Mayor Walsh has been a tireless supporter and energetic member of the Irish American Hockey Association since it's inception and recently assisted a group of young hockey players visiting from Dundalk, Ireland to secure scrimmage ice at the Devine rink in Dorchester.

As members of the Irish American Hockey Association, Mayor Walsh, as well as State Rep Nick Collins and others, was instrumental in helping clear the way for young Irish Hockey star Sean Coleman to enter the US and play the game he loves, ice hockey, while attending a prominent Catholic High School here in the Boston area.   

Mayor Walsh was part of the largest Irish Ice Hockey Classic to date with 20 teams competeing over a 3 day period at the Murphy Rink for the coveted Irish Crystal Trophy.

The Captain of the Irish National Hockey Team, Ross O'Driscoll, made the journey from Cork, Ireland back to his native South Boston to participate in last years Irish Classic. Ross has previously worked a number of Irish American Youth Hockey Camps with former Bruins PJ Stock and all of South Boston awaits the return of the Irish National Team Captain.

Off Ice, players enjoyed some of South Boston's finest night life with opening night ceremonies and pagentry at the Boston Beer Garden and the Playwright Cafe on Thursday night, Lincoln Tavern on Broadway on Friday, and Whiskey Priest and Atlantic Beer Garden in the Seaport District on Saturday. 

A special thanks to Mr. Dennis Conway and his team at the Southie Shuttle who will be transporting players to and from the Murphy Rink in South Boston to all of the local establishments throughout the tournament.

The South Boston U16 National Bound Hockey Team, led by hockey legends Teddy Cunniff, Tommy McGrath, Arthur Fritch and JR Butler, was at the rink throughout the tournament as their team prepared to head to Reston, VA to represent the state of Massachusetts at the U16 National Tournament.

As is the case every year, Boston Bruins legendary singer, Rene Rancourt, wowed the crowds with his beautiful renditions of the Irish, Canadian and American National Anthems as welll as a variety of Irish Ballards.
