Boston Bruins Alumni & Irish American Hockey host fundraiser in Somerville

An Irish American Hockey Thank You!

Thanks to all who showed up to support the Collins Family in their time of need at our recent fundraiser Hockey Game with the Boston Bruins Alumni Team.

Through the generosity of Friends of Irish American Hockey Association as well as friends of the Boston Bruins Alumni Team, we were able to raise just over $22,500.00, of which 100% of all the proceeds for the evening event went directly to the Collins Family as the rebound from losing all they had in the horrific house fire.

As all the supporters well know, their home at 27 Dickinson St. in Somerville, which has been in the Collins Family for 3 generations, was completely destroyed in the recent fire. Unfortunately, at the time of the fire, the homeowners insurance had lapsed and there was no insurance coverage whatsoever on the Collins family home or its contents.

Special thanks to Bruins Greats Terry O'Reilly, Alumni President Rick Middleton, Kenny Linesman, Frank Simonetti, Bobby Sweeney, Bullet Bob Cormier, Bruce Shoebottom, Reggie Lemelin, Tommy Songin, Dave Shaw, John Carter, Bob Miller and Bruce Crowder.

Lastly, a special thanks to Hockey Legend Teddy Cunniff for making an appearance at the Collins Hockey Game and at the City Club; always an honor to be in the presence of hockey greatness.

It was a terrific game at the sold out Somerville Rink and well over 250 people came to the Somerville City Club for a post game meal and beverages to bid on auction items and enjoy great music and friends.

Thanks to all friends of Irish American Hockey who made this fundraising night a tremendous success for the Collins Family.
