Week 7 of the Sportime roller hockey season is in the books. Here are the highlights.
Roller “A” Platinum
-The Coasters and L.I. Blazers both won via forfeit in Week 7. The two clubs are currently tied for the Platinum division lead.
Roller “B” Gold
-The Labeda Empire Snipers picked up a 2-1 victory in what proved to be a defensive battle against OMLB on Wednesday. Charlie Mott carried the Snipers to their third win of the fall, with two goals.
Roller “C” Silver
-Hatrick Swayze picked up an exciting 6-5 overtime win over No Chance last Sunday. Sal Noto notched the game’s winning overtime score for Swayze, while teammate Nick Hadnagy had a hat trick in the contest.
-The Rick Rollers picked up a 6-5 win of their own this week, defeating the Halifax Highlanders on Monday. Eric Tatarian led the way offensively for the Rick Rollers, with two goals and an assist.
-Three first-period goals helped carry the Red Rockets to 3-2 win over the Litigators on Monday. Nick Mangia, Sean Frey, and Sal Ninivagui each had a goal in the Rockets victory.
Roller “Z” Bronze
-Dan Valentine picked up an overtime game-winning goal for Pineapple Express last Sunday, as his team defeated the Torpedoes 4-3. Christian Letourneau also finished with a goal and assist for the Express in the contest.
-The White Buffalo got back on the winning track, with a 6-4 win over the Brews Brothers on Monday. Both Matt Piscitelli and Matt Citrolo had two goals in White Buffalo’s victory.
-A Jason Heck hat trick led TBD to a 7-4 win over the KJ Farrells. John Speelman also scored twice in TBD’s first win of the season.
-The Pet Detectives doubled up The Circus on the scoreboard on Halloween, defeating them by an 8-4 final. Adam Rabinowitz had a scary good night, scoring four goals for the Detectives, while teammates Todd Kaplan and Andy Zucaro had two assists apiece.
Roller “Rec” East
-The Road Warriors won a wild one over Jawz on Halloween night, coming out on top 7-6. Seven different players scored on the night for the Warriors, who picked up their third win of the fall.
-Nick Hadnagy had a night to remember this Halloween, scoring seven times to lead the Electric Mayhem to a 9-2 win over Cobra Kai. Hadnagy also registered an assist, giving him an incredible eight points for the contest.
-The Gonzos picked up a big win on Wednesday, defeating Onslaught 4-2. Raymond Boeckle, Michael Sacco, Kevin Reinhardt, and Brian Finlay all scored to help the Gonzos earn two important points in the standings.
Roller “Rec” North
-Last Sunday, Stick Out For Harambe put forth a dominant effort against the Sharks, defeating them 10-2. Mike Fazio’s hat trick helped lead Harambe to victory. Kevin Geffen was also a strong performer, with two goals and two assists.
-Jesse Roestenberg struck with 1:06 left in overtime last Sunday, to give the JS Blackhawks a 4-3 win over the Iceholes. Julian Prine also played a key role in the Blackhawks victory, scoring two times.
-Covfefe had an enjoyable Halloween night, as they celebrated the holiday with an 8-3 win over the Puck Boys. Jorge Gomez and Todd Kaplan each had two points in their team’s victory.
-On Friday, the Zambronies came out firing, as they defeated the Dragons by an 8-3 final. Mike Baldi and Jimmy Wynne led the Zambronies offensive assault with two goals each.
-Stick Out For Harambe scored three times in both the first and second period on Friday, to pick up a 6-3 win over ATM. Mike Fazio had a game-high two goals.
-A five-point performance from Ed Armellino helped the Wet Banditz come away with a 6-0 win against the Sharks on Friday. Mike Scancarello also had a goal and assist in the contest.
-The Iceholes got their revenge against the JS Blackhawks on Friday, as a two-goal night from Jeff Korn led them to a 4-3 victory.
-Hat tricks from Sal Nicchia and Brian Sheehan and 21 saves from goaltender Biagio Lepre gave Old Skool a 6-3 win over Covfefe on Friday.
