WINTER 2013 SEASON ~ GAME 16 on May 19th
10:00 am Sonic Boom 81 vs. Ol School 83
Sonic Boom lost a heartbreaker to Ol School, and ended their two game win streak. Ol School started their own win streak with the victory, and used a big night from newcomer Ben to do it. After a strong first half, Ol School had to withstand a hot-shooting Joey in the second half, and led by two with only seconds to go. Sonic Boom had a chance to win it with a three, but passed on the shot to try and tie. They couldn’t get a shot off, and Ol School escaped with the victory.

WINTER 2013 SEASON ~ GAME 15 on May 12th
10:00 am Sonic Boom 81 vs. Ball Busters 67
Sonic Boom used another big offensive showing by Joey to offset an otherwise sloppy offensive output and earned their second win of the weekend. Despite a rather one sided offensive effort, Sonic Boom played excellent team defense and limited the Ball Busters from downtown, and forced them away from the paint.
Honourable Mention goes to Joey for his 52 points as he led his team to victory.

WINTER 2013 SEASON ~ GAME 14 on May 11th
10:00 am Ol School 53 vs. Alcoholics 62
The Alcoholics defeated Ol School by using their physicality and forcing turnovers. Using a swarming perimeter D to protect the arc, and anchored by Greg in the paint, the Alcoholics forced tough, contested shots and turnovers to create easy transition opportunities. The short-handed Ol School squad tried to get inside when their 3s weren’t falling and tried drawing fouls but had trouble finishing down low.
Honourable Mention goes to Greg for his interior D and dominating the smaller Ol School line.

WINTER 2013 SEASON ~ GAME 12 on April 28th
10:00 am Ol School 108 vs. Not Your Average Bears 29
Ol School pounded the ball inside against the short-handed Bears and cruised to an easy win. The Bears were only six players, and despite their best efforts, couldn’t keep the energy up, especially after falling behind early. Defensively, Ol School cleaned up the boards, disrupted the passing lanes, and got out in transition, leading to easy buckets and fueling their win.
Honourable Mention goes to Darren for his 34 points and pacing the fast breaks.

WINTER 2013 SEASON ~ GAME 13 on May 5th
10:00 am Fundamentally Sound 57 vs. Ball Busters 77
The Ball Busters took a small, early lead, but managed to build on it until the final buzzer. Fundamentally Sound were hot from deep all game, but their over-reliance on isolations and one-on-one plays couldn’t keep pace with the Ball Busters balanced team attack. The Ball Busters kept building on their lead throughout but a big fourth quarter sealed their victory.
Honourable Mention goes to Craig for leading his team in scoring and defensively.
