Top Two Teams Meet in League Finals

The top two teams from the regular season, the top seeded Riverview Weed Man A's and the seconded seeded Hampton Coast Tire Indians will square off in League Championship round which will get underway Thursday night in Riverview. The A's earned a first round bye and then bested the Saint John Mets in the semi-finals while the Indians eliminated the Aquarius Dodgers in the opening round and then disposed of the Portland Pub Pete's in their semi-final match-up. ...

A light rain and dark, ominous clouds threatened to postpone Game 2 of the semi-final match-up between the Riverview Weed Man A's and the Saint John Mets at Forest Hills Field, Tuesday night. As though Mother Nature knew what was in store, the skies cleared and the epic battle began on time. Outstanding pitching and stellar defence was the name of the game. A's take Game 1 from Mets
|
The Riverview Weed Man A's showed little rust in their first game since July 19th, a span of exactly three weeks. The A's scored 9 runs on 14 hits against the Saint John Mets to win Game one of their Best of Five Semi-Final Sunday at Harold Page Field. Jody Cole led the A's attack going 4-4 with 3 singles, a home run and two runs batted in. Matt Hebert went 3-3 at the dish and Kevin Basque was 3-4 with an RBI and a stolen base. Ryan Mitchell was 2-3 with a single, double and a stolen base for the Mets. ...

A’s Roy throws no-hitter against Dodgers

Patrick Roy has caught, played third base and pitched exclusively out of the bull-pen this season for the Riverview Weed Man A’s. Making his first start of the season Roy can now add a no-hitter to his list of accomplishments. The tall, 24 year old right hander shut down the Aquarius Dodgers 10 - 0 Monday night for the first no-hitter in the brief history of the Riverview A’s franchise. Roy allowed just two base runners, walking Kelly Harris and seeing Josh Gagne reach on an error with two outs in the fifth. ...
