Statistics keeping important to the game

Hank Aaron hit 755 career homeruns, Ichiro Suzuki holds the record for most consecutive seasons with at least 200 hits, etc. If it wasn't for statistical keeping than all one could say about these great players is that Aaron hit a lot of homeruns and Suzuki was a very good hitter. I think most would agree with me when I say that statistical keeping adds to the enjoyment of the game. No, we are not playing in the major leagues. This is the TVSBL not the MLB and I recognize that, but really this league is our MLB. So why not make the league as good as we can?...

Barons beat 1st places Astros

The Forest City Barons continued their rebound from last year's last place finish with a 9-1 win over the Mitchell Astros. The Astros came into this game with a 13-2 mark but were defeated soundly by the 9-6-1 barons who jumped out to an early lead which was all that Pitcher Steve Palmer needed....
