TOURNAMENT RULES
1. We will be playing with FIBA rules with tournament modifications. Please read the differences between FIBA and NCAA rules on pages 10-11.
2. All games will consist of TWO 16-minute stop-time halves. Overtime periods will be three minutes long.
3. All teams should bring their own warm-up balls. Teams will mutually agree to use one of their warm-up balls during the game. Pre-game warm-ups will last a minimum of FIVE minutes and the halftime break will be THREE minutes.
4. The first listed team in the draw is the home team and should wear the light colored uniforms, unless one team does not have home and away color uniforms. Teams may make arrangements among themselves to change this guideline. Teams MUST bring both uniform tops to all games if they have them.
5. All referees are allocated through the BCBOA or the Canada West Officials Camp. The tournament organizers do not play any role in the allocation of officials for the games.
6. All players will be allowed SIX PERSONAL FOULS before they are disqualified. Bonus foul shots will be shot on the TENTH (two shots) team foul.
7. Teams will get TWO 60 second time-outs per half (no carry-over). One time-out will be given out for each overtime period. COACHES AND PLAYERS WILL BE PERMITTED TO CALL THEIR OWN TIME-OUTS when they have the ball (NCAA rule for time-outs).
8. There are no restrictions on the use of zone presses and zone defenses in any of the divisions.
9. Admission will be charged in all gyms each day ($5 adults, $2 for students/seniors, under 13 free). Tournament passes for adults can be purchased for $15.
10. Team coaches are responsible for the conduct and supervision of their players and fans/parents. Unacceptable behavior may result in the person being banned from the gym for the remainder of the tournament.
11. We will NOT be using 24-second shot clocks. However, teams which deliberately stall will be given a warning and forced to play on the first offence. On the second and succeeding offences, the game will be stopped and the opposing team will be awarded the ball on a turnover. We will be using a 10-second backcourt count and an over-and-back centre line.
12. All decisions made by the tournament director or site coordinator ARE FINAL!
